Our Process

Dorer Community Service Foundation is a Massachusetts non-profit tax-exempt 501(c)(3) private operating foundation. This means that rather than primarily making grants, we actively support your program activities by providing consulting services. These services are provided for free (pro bono/100% discount) or at a substantially reduced fee based on market rates.

To apply for our services send an email to info@dorerfoundation.org telling us about your organization and how we might be able to help you. The next step is writing a project description. We will help you with this process. There is no form to fill out.

Our work is project based. We begin by working with you to craft a Project Description document. We will invoice you regularly based on hours worked and we provide an hourly based descriptive accounting of our work. Your discount will be applied (typically 100%). We request that you provide us with a standard Internal Revenue Service “in kind” acknowledgement letter stating the number of hours worked and the title(s) of the project(s). Your accountant will appreciate having an invoice for the discounted work when they report your annual financial statements. We also request that you provide an annual progress report for the project. Typically an email will suffice and we will help you write the report.

To receive our services, your organization must be a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit or government organization.
